“River”
by Ellie Hogan
December 2022
There is a river
Inside us all
Only when we have courage
Can we take the fall
I stand at the edge
Of the blue river
My feet are stuck
My stomach quivers
My heart is pounding
The branches grow nearer
Still I am stuck
At the edge of this river
And all the time has gone by
Still I have not moved
I will be stuck forever
At the edge of this river
