2024 Fine Arts League of Cary Juried Exhibition
The 2024 Juried Exhibition is a production of the Fine Arts League of Cary (FALC) and was hosted at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary. This image, “Esmerelda,” was one of 91 pieces of art selected by the jury and displayed as a 16×20″ canvas print.
About the Photograph
This photograph was created in 2024 as part of a creative retreat with Audrey Malek, a company dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet; and Tutu.Com a Charlotte-based creator of ballet costuming. Esmerelda is the Romani character of Victor Hugo’s classic. She is a free spirit and a compassionate soul, and that, along with her beauty, enrapts those who come into her orbit. The ballet is not widely staged in the United States.
