2024 ASP Images of Distinction
The American Society of Photographers’ 2024 Images of Distinction has wrapped up its 9 month cycle and the results are in. My goal was to get 4 images seal with distinction, which I did. All other images earned seals of approval, meaning they were merit images.
Additionally, one image received a “Judges Choice” award. This means that one judge singled it out from approximately 900 images.
The Journey
Images of Distinction is ASP’s premier photographic judging program. The first round allows both member and non-member photographers to have images judged and receive feedback. Of the 8 images submitted, all were sealed for approval, and one was sealed for distinction. Based on the feedback, I kept the seal of distinction for the final round and reworked one image that I felt would benefit and perhaps earn a seal of distinction.
In the final round, held in August, only images by ASP members are judged for distinction. The final round represents images created by Master Photographers across all genres of photography. For this round, my 8 submissions included 6 new images plus the two mentioned above. Three of the 6 new images earned their seal of distinction and the rest received seals of approval.
I’m very pleased with these results and grateful for the feedback.
