2024 IV Awards

2024 IV Awards — Excellence Award — Rendevous — UNC Charlotte, NC

The 2024 IV Awards (International Visionography Awards) is hosted by Master Photographers International (MPI) and is in its 2nd and final year. What drew me to this competition is that it is hosted by the same folks who ran the 2024 IIC but with additional focus on story-telling.

I am supremely happy to report that all 13 images were accepting in the show, and 7 receiving merit awards, and 3 receiving excellence awards. The image above, “Rendezvous”, was my highest scoring image and took second place in the minimalism class. I did make one mistake by accidentally entering “Remorse” in the figure-study category, which certainly impacted its score.

In the final ranking against all of the photographers in the portrait category, our images brought home:

  • First Place in Fine Art Dance Photography
  • Secon Place in Minimalism Portrait Photography
  • Third Place in Fine Art Dance Photography
  • Third Place in Figure Studies

To say that I’m pleased would be a massive understatement! I am so very proud of each dancer whose artistry shines through in each image.

What is Next?

Unfortunately, this was a one-and-done competition since this is the last year for the MPI program. I enjoyed sifting through my portfolio, emphasizing story-telling, and seeing how the jurors responded. I’m still delighted to have had the experience.

Fine Art Photography

Andrew Bowen Studios’ goal is to help artists thrive. When a Fine Art Photo sells, 20% of the net proceeds go to the dancer to support their career.
