2024 Art of the Arts Exhibition
Art of the Arts is a nationally juried exhibition of artworks that uses the visual arts to feature and highlight other art forms such as Dance, Theater, and Literature. We are delighted the the art of these dancers were selected for the exhibition.
The show will run during January 2024 at the d’Art Center in Norfolk, Virginia.
I am so very pleased that “Boundless” earned an honorable mention from the judges at this incredible exhibition.
About the Photographs
Atlas
This photograph was created in 2022 as part of a creative retreat with The Pluck Project, the contemporary BFA Dance cohort’s senior project. Artist Nikolas Darrough created this shape reminiscent of classic Atlas sculptures with an unspecified world being held.
Boundless (Honorable Mention)
Created in 2021 with Michela Poynter (nee Semenza), this image is best seen large to exaggerate the expansive space. Her expression and positioning imply a flight into a space of limitless possibilities.
Taking the High Road
This photograph was created in 2022 as part of a creative retreat with The Pluck Project, the contemporary BFA Dance cohort’s senior project. Artist Amaya Lashaye takes a high position and riveting stare. Though the path to the present may have been laden with obstacles, they are empowered and powerful.
