Youth Mental Health First Aid
I finished my Youth Mental Health First Aid certification on June 22, 2024. Emotionally, it was a lot. However, given the statistics in general and for the dance world specifically, I feel I owe it to my clients to do anything I can to help tip the scales.
I will always prioritize my dancers’ needs and have their backs. At my studio, you never need to apologize, and you will never disappoint me. Be who you are and where you need to be.

What is Mental Health First Aid?
From the National Council for Mental Wellbeing:
Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
Thank you to Michelle and Kirstin of Danscend for teaching the course and being an amazing resource for mental health in the dance world.
